Grief: A Part of Life
This free, 2-hour education session is designed to be reassuring and practical. You’ll be provided with information about coping with your grief and gain some ideas, skills and resources that may be helpful for you as you manage life without your loved one.
We will explore topics like:
- why do we grieve
- why grief can be so difficult
- how grief effects so much of our lives
- why one person’s grief is different from another’s
- understanding how grief changes, and we change, as time goes on
- ideas that might make grief easier to manage
- where to find support, comfort, resources, and help
You won’t be expected to share your own story in this session, but you will receive information that we hope will be helpful to you. If you need a support person, you are welcome to have one attend.
The session is facilitated by specialist bereavement counsellors from MCM’s palliative care service. It is not a group counselling session, but a safe place to gain resources and share information.
If you're unsure whether this event is right for you at this time, feel free and contact our team at community@gmct.com.au
