Andrew and May Street Works

16 January 2026

We would like to provide an update on the works commencing at Northern Memorial Park over the next few weeks.

To limit disruption to our neighbours, we are taking a staged approach to the excavation and installation of the Andrew Street sewer upgrade. These early works are essential in connecting and integrating the Park’s system with the municipal network.

Unless you have be contacted directly, there will be no impact to the access of your driveways or property.

All works will take place during the permitted Merri-bek City Council hours of 7am–6pm (Monday to Friday) and 9am–1pm (Saturday).

Stage 1: Preparation of Works

When: Wednesday 14 to Saturday 17 January

  • Barriers will be put in place around the Andrew Street work site.

Stage 2: Andrew Street Works

When: Monday 19 to Friday 23 January

  • Traffic management will be in place along Andrew and May streets, and the southern end of the Andrew Street footpath will be closed.

Stage 3: May Street Works

When: Tuesday 27 to Saturday 7 February

  • The May Street entrance of Northern Memorial Park will be temporarily closed as the works at the end of Andrew Street are completed.

Stage 4: Final Testing and Reopening the Site

When: Monday 2 to Saturday 7 February

  • Finalise any remaining works and reinstate regular traffic along May and Andrew Street.

Upon successful testing, the works will conclude by Friday 27 February. These dates are subject to change, but our contractors will try to adhere the proposed timeline.
