Community Success: A Tour of Unfortunate Events

Our communities in Melbourne’s north clearly have a taste for the eerie! The Friends of Coburg Cemetery delighted audiences with two wonderfully successful tours, bringing to life the surprising and little‑known stories hidden within one of GMCT’s oldest cemeteries.

Anzac Day at Lilydale Memorial Park

Our annual Anzac commemorative service at Lilydale Memorial Park was held on Thursday 16 April to honour the lives and services of military personnel interred at our memorial parks. The evening was marked with The Last Post, wreath laying, and an installation of 8,000 hand-knit poppies.

Milestones

GMCT goes Solar

Fawkner Memorial Park will soon be the fifth and final GMCT site to have solar panels installed. Since last year, solar installations have been completed at our Northern, Preston, Lilydale, and Altona sites. The completion of these works is a significant achievement for our 2025–2030 Sustainability Strategy.
